Let’s Talk about Dummy Rounds

“The BEST El Paso firearms training by the MOST qualified Instructor”

I recommend two types of dummy rounds.  One for dry firing and one for malfunction clearance.

Dry Firing:  I use Tipton Snap Caps because it is spring-load that will soften the impact of tens of thousands of spring-loaded firing pin strikes.

In the mid-1990’s, I cracked the breechface of a Glock 22 due to hundreds of thousands of dry fires.  After I send the slide back to Glock, I was told I was the first person in the world that had cracked the breechface of a Glock due to dry firing.  I have used Tipton Snap Caps ever since.

Malfunction Clearance: Because Tipton Snap Caps is made of hard plastic, it will crack doing vigorous malfunction clearance manipulation. Therefore, I use A-Zoom dummy rounds for malfunction clearance
